Sprott Shaw College’s Pharmacy Assistant program prepares you to work alongside a licensed pharmacist to prepare prescribed medication, stock shelves, manage inventory and gather patient information. In just 33 weeks, you will have the skills and training needed explore opportunities as a clinical pharmacy assistant, health care consultant, pharmaceutical worker and more!

  • Learn to prepare and package prescription medication, compound non-sterile pharmaceutical products, maintain prescription and inventory records and maintain proper drug storage and security
  • Study medical and pharmacological terminology and develop critical communication, customer service and bookkeeping skills
  • Learn to perform pharmaceutical calculations, apply aseptic techniques to the workplace, prepare and complete related reports, write memos, emails and other correspondence
